Liverpool Township Community Information

Liverpool Township is Medina County's largest Industrial Park of over 900 acres and is located just 20 miles northwest of Akron and 28 miles south of Cleveland. With the park's proximity to I-71, I-77, I-271, I-480 and the Ohio Turnpike, industries dealing with lawn and garden tractors, steel processing, and automotive stampings and assemblies have established plants here to utilize the complex and just-in-time delivery possibilities. Valley City is home to MTD Products, the producer of Yardman, Cub Cadet, and many other brands of lawn mowers and garden tractors.

The park is privately owned with fully serviced sites (gas, electric, water, sewer, rail) ranging in size from 2 to 50 acres available for immediate building. There are approximately 500 acres to be developed in the park.

Buckeye Local School District

Liverpool Township is part of the Buckeye Local School District which was formed on June 19, 1952 when York, Litchfield, and Liverpool School Districts consolidated into one district. The present Junior High was dedicated as Buckeye High School on November 24, 1957. The district's first Superintendent was Lloyd E. Naragon. The present High School building was constructed during 1972 and 1973, and was dedicated on September 16, 1973, replacing what is now Buckeye Junior High School. With the passage of a Bond Issue the Buckeye School District undertook a tremendous building project by adding on to the elementary at Litchfield in 2002, the Junior High in 2002, and the Senior High in 2002. The Liverpool and York buildings were constructed on the high school campus in York Township, and opened in January of 2004. The old Liverpool and York buildings dated to the early 1900's with wings being added to each in the early 1960's. The elementary at Litchfield was completed in 1979, the Junior High in 1958 and the High School in 1973.

The number of students at the time of consolidation was 781 which has increased now to over 2,300. Buckeye Schools is part of the Medina County School District which also includes, Highland, Black River, and Cloverleaf Local School Districts.

The district presently has 2 elementary schools (K-6), 1 Junior High (7&8) and 1 Senior High School. Any student wishing to have vocational training may attend the Medina County Career Center. There are also Parochial Schools in the nearby cities of Brunswick and Medina.
